Robert Raymond

Robert Nelson Raymond (1921-2021) passed away peacefully on Sept 2nd, 2021.  Robert was the son of Elsie (Pero) Raymond and Abbott Raymond and was the brother to Charlotte (Raymond) Cavicchi, all from Plymouth, MA.

Growing up in the Manomet locality of Plymouth, his family operated a small restaurant and cottages along Fresh Pond, known as Raymond’s Corner.  Robert attended the Plymouth Schools and graduated in 1939.  He served in the Armed Forces during World War 2 and graduated from Boston University.  He made his career in insurance underwriting, where he rose to a senior level.  Robert made his life in the Fenway section of Boston.  He resided within the same neighborhood for 80 years.  He contributed to his community by participating in the “Big Brother” program, being a mentor to a young man with whom he has remained in contact to this day.

Robert leaves behind two nephews, Richard Cavicchi and his wife Maureen, of Plymouth, MA and Jon Cavicchi of Penacook, NH; a great niece, Angelina Lindsay of Marshfield, and two great nephews, Richard Cavicchi Jr, and John Cavicchi, both of Plymouth.  Robert had good friends in Joseph Kebartas, Roberto Correia, and “Archie” who have remained close and supportive over many of the 100 years of life.

The family is planning a private service.
