Richard Leavitt Obituary

Richard A. Leavitt, 77, of Hanover, formerly of Brockton and Quincy, passed away after a brief illness on March 18th at Seasons Hospice in Milton. Richard was retired and had worked in the food service industry much of his career, most recently for Stop & Shop.  He proudly served in the Army National Guard Reserves.

Richard is survived by his sister Linda (Leavitt) Santoro and husband Frank; niece Lori (Santoro) Scott and her husband David; nephew Michael Santoro and his wife Sandy; four grandnephews Joseph and Andrew Scott; Jesse and Cole Santoro and beloved companion of many years, Barbara Kaczmasz, her daughter Tina Lindsay and her loving family.  He was the son of the late Joseph Leavitt and Rose (Winer) Leavitt of Quincy.

Richard was gentle and kind, whose love of music made him the soulful person he was.  He loved his walks.  He loved his family and most of all his one true love, Barbara.  His quiet strength will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice or to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 597 Randolph Ave., Milton, MA 02186.
